About Crystal Fury

A retirement planning practice built on the belief that everyone deserves clarity about their financial future.

How We Came to Be

Crystal Fury was established in 2008 by a group of financial professionals who shared a common frustration: too many people were approaching retirement with anxiety rather than anticipation. The financial services industry, they felt, had become too focused on products and too disconnected from the real concerns of ordinary people planning for their later years.

The founding team had accumulated decades of experience in pensions, benefits advice, and financial planning. What united them was a commitment to accessible, jargon-free guidance that empowered clients to make informed decisions. They wanted to create a practice where people felt comfortable asking questions, no matter how basic those questions might seem.

From modest beginnings in a shared office space in London, we've grown steadily through word-of-mouth recommendations. Today, we serve clients across the United Kingdom, though our approach remains unchanged: treat every client as an individual, listen carefully to their concerns, and provide guidance that genuinely serves their interests.

Our Mission

To help every client approach retirement with confidence, clarity, and genuine peace of mind about their financial future.

We achieve this by providing personalised guidance that respects each client's unique circumstances, concerns, and aspirations. We believe that good advice should be accessible, understandable, and always in the client's best interest.

The People Behind Crystal Fury

Eleanor Mitchell

Managing Director

Eleanor co-founded Crystal Fury after twenty years in pension scheme management. She holds the Chartered Financial Planner designation and specialises in complex pension arrangements, particularly those involving defined benefit transfers. Eleanor is known for her ability to explain complicated concepts in straightforward terms.

James Whitmore

Head of Client Services

James oversees our client relationships and ensures every interaction meets our standards. His background in social services gives him particular insight into the non-financial aspects of retirement planning—the emotional and practical considerations that are just as important as the numbers.

Dr. Priya Sharma

Senior Retirement Advisor

Priya joined us in 2015 after a career in healthcare administration. Her PhD in health economics gives her unique expertise in planning for healthcare costs in retirement. She leads our work with NHS professionals and has developed specialist knowledge of the NHS Pension Scheme.

Michael Brennan

Benefits Specialist

Michael focuses on state benefits and entitlements, an area where many retirees leave money on the table. His encyclopaedic knowledge of the benefits system has helped hundreds of clients claim what they're owed. Before joining us, Michael worked at Citizens Advice for over a decade.

Our Core Values

01

Transparency

We believe you should always understand what you're paying for and why. Our fee structure is clear, and we explain our reasoning at every step. If we recommend a particular course of action, you'll understand the basis for that recommendation.

02

Independence

We don't sell financial products or receive commissions from providers. Our only interest is in giving you advice that serves your needs. This independence allows us to recommend solutions based solely on their suitability for your situation.

03

Accessibility

Financial planning shouldn't be intimidating or exclusive. We work hard to make our services accessible—in how we communicate, how we price our services, and how we treat every client who walks through our door.

04

Empowerment

Our goal isn't to create dependency but to build your understanding. We want you to feel confident about your financial decisions, not reliant on us to make them for you. Education is central to everything we do.

05

Respect

Your time is valuable, and so are your concerns. We listen more than we talk, and we never dismiss questions as too basic or concerns as unfounded. Every client deserves to be heard and understood.

06

Continuous Learning

The regulatory landscape changes constantly. Our team commits to ongoing professional development, ensuring we stay current with the latest rules, products, and strategies that might benefit our clients.

Our Approach to Retirement Planning

Many financial services firms treat retirement planning as a product sale. We see it differently. Retirement is a major life transition that affects every aspect of your life—your finances, yes, but also your sense of purpose, your relationships, and your daily routine.

Our approach is holistic. We start by understanding who you are and what matters to you. What does a good retirement look like in your mind? What concerns keep you up at night? What are you most looking forward to? Only after we understand these things do we start looking at the numbers.

We also believe in ongoing relationships, not one-off transactions. Your circumstances will change, and so will the regulatory environment. We're here to help you adapt and adjust over time, not just to set you on a path and wish you luck.

Time-Based Billing

We charge for our time, not for products sold. This aligns our interests with yours.

No Product Sales

We don't sell pensions or investments. Our advice is genuinely independent.

Couples Welcome

Retirement planning often involves two people. We're experienced in navigating joint decisions.
